Last night I was reading a book: “Career Day” that we borrowed from the library to Nathan. Obviously it’s about different kind of careers of the children’s parents. So, I stopped and asked things related to the book. Here is our conversation.

Me: “Do you know what’s daddy’s job?”

N: “I don’t know”

Me: “He is a business analyst. He does most of his work on computer.”

N: “So, what is your job?”

Me: “What?? you don’t know what my job is and you stay with me everyday??”

N: “I know, you buy things!”

Me… speechless

Ok… I know I’m so emotional but I just can’t get over that my oldest son is now 4 years old. And now he is riding a big boy bike but still with 3 wheels Check out the big boy!

He got this tricycle for his 2 years old birthday!

2 years later, he upgraded to a “big boy” bike. Oh time time, please don’t fly by too fast and God help me to treasure each moment with my sons!

We were at a friend’s wedding in Dallas last week. It was a beautiful wedding. After the wedding, we had a little ISCA reunion with all the old friends. It was fun catching up with all the old friends! We didn’t get to take pictures with the bride and groom because Andy was so busy helping out in the kitchen and I was of course busy with the kids. But we had a good time and we got to take a family picture that we seldom has a chance to take together. When you have kids, the camera is always focus on the kids and many times the parents are almost always out of the scene or sometimes you manage to get a picture of one parent or the other but seldom both! But we managed to take one and the picture turns out great too!

I can’t imagine myself saying this: My Nathan turned 4 years old two weeks ago! How did the time go by so fast! I told Nathan one day that in about 14 years he will leave home and probably not thinking much about mommy anymore. He replied: “I still need you mommy!” hahha… yes for now but not too long! We had a birthday party for both Nathan and Noah at Boingo Bounce. Both of them and their friends had a blast there. Thank you for all the friends and family who spent the time to celebrate their birthdays with us!

Did it just happen with the blink of my eye?? My baby turns 1 today!!! Despite the rough spot when he was younger, he is growing now like weeds! He started walking when he was 11 months old and of course he is having so much fun walking especially he is now could do a lot of stuff like all of the other family members, esp his gor gor! I would commend on how he has really persistent in walking! You know when a baby is learning to walk, most of the time when he/she falls down, usually he/she will probably prefer get back to crawling to finish up his/her course of destination. But not with Noah, he would stand up and try again and again! Bravo for being perservarence and persistence! As a result, he is walking pretty stable now! Well, he is allergic to so many things! So, for his 1st birthday, I made a little cup cake that without using eggs or dairy! I really pray that he will outgrow his allergies soon! Oh.. did I mention he slept through the night in his crib without crying on his birthday!! hahha.. I know it’s about time but I just happy to report that!

My baby has been very interested in bugs lately!!! All moms know that babies learn by seeing, touching and tasting.. You might have guessed what Noah has done now with the bugs he found! ok.. i don’t mind seeing and touching them but tasting them is a big NO NO!!! It’s gross.. So these are the bugs that I’ve found my baby putting them in the mouth! Who knows what else he put in since I cannot be with him 24/7. But I would say that Nathan has been a great big brother who look out for what baby puts in the mouth. I caught Noah putting the spider in the mouth. When he saw see with the surprise look, he quickly put the yucky spider in the mouth and tried to “run away” from me! Nathan caught him eating the moth and he screamed out loud. I guess baby realized that it was not supposed to be eaten?? or just simply tasted yucky?? and spat out the moth. What have you found your babies putting in his/her mouth?? Can they be more yucky than these bugs???

Nathan has been refusing to take a nap lately!! But seriously, I think if he tries harder, he could nap and I think he is tired by 2 or 3 pm usually. Why would a preschooler refused to take a nap when he is tired?? He has nothing to do except for books and toys! The books and toys are old but even though we go to library to get a lot of new books every week! I’ve no idea why and I think he should appreciate naptime more!! Is it strange when you were little, you wouldn’t want to sleep/nap and when you grow up to a teenager and wouldn’t want to get up?? What’s wrong with that?? ok, this is the picture to prove that he is indeed tired after a forced “quiet time”! One day he told me that: “mommy, I think napping is not good because it takes a long time!”

I saw this pajamas at Wal Mart. It’s organic cotton PJs and only $3 for each set. I thought it’s a good buy and since they are cheap and I’ve to dress them up with the matching PJs! So, here is the picture of my boys with those fancy organic cotton PJs!

Nathan has developed his creative side lately! I barely remember he was interested in coloring or drawing or even crafts when he was younger! Maybe it’s part of growing up… I feel really bad throwing away all the pictures but if I don’t, then he house will be in big pile of clutter of his drawings! So, I think it’s better if I document them and still having not so “messy” house with all his drawings! Here are some of the drawings that I like:

I’ve not taken pictures for my sons lately. When I took some pictures yesterday, I realize that they have definitely growing up too fast! Noah is cruising now and sometimes he could even stand up by himself for a few seconds. I don’t think he did realize it though! Noah is definitely falling into a schedule in his waking and sleeping time! It is good because I could know ahead what is up to and not making him too tired sometimes when I’m out and about! hahha… but sad thing is he is not sleeping through the night yet! I don’t have too much expectation for this since I know how it is with Nathan! I’m helping him to do that though since I’m letting him fall asleep on his own instead of breastfeeding him to sleep. His skin problem that he had earlier on is better since I don’t see too often outbreak lately. But I give all praise to the Lord for he is his protection! At times I have become bitterness about the infection that he has, but the Lord has been graciously reminded me that nothing has happened in our lives without his knowledge!! Isn’t that the greatest promises knowing that my God is with me at all times!

Noah’s favorite person in the house is still his gor gor – Nathan. He just chuckled away everytime he plays with his gor gor! I’m so happy to see my boys are getting along so well for now! hahha.. notice that I said for now because I know there will be days when they start fighting and bickering with one another! Still, I’m enjoying this moment of peace and happiness they both share in this moment!
